Location
Beneath the pine tree canopy and gently rolling sedge grasses in Northern Elmore County, Pine Wing Preserve offers a picturesque setting for the foot minded hunter and observer alike. Situated on 300 acres a few miles North of Wetumpka and eighty-five miles southwest of Birmingham, you will have the opportunity to hunt quail, chukkar and pheasant in a private and relaxed environment unlike any other.

Your guide and expert field dog trainer, George Long has committed his life to continuing a tradition that rests in the souls of all who appreciate the experience of an upland hunt. With a variety of indigenous food and cover plots (bi-color lespedeza, Johnson grass love grass, brown top millet, milo, and partridge pea), engage your shooting skills alongside English Setters, German Short Hair, English and or Elhew Pointers. Pine Wing Preserve will provide the canvas. It is up to you to enhance the experience of the hunt.

The season runs October 1st through March 31st. All hunts can be booked directly with George Long by calling (256) 234-4550 office or (256)496-0080 cell.

We are looking forward to our tenth year of operation. We encourage hunters to bring their own meals and beverages or make other provisional arrangements directly with George Long.
